Bretonnia-Project (Bretonnia the WFRP version)
Additionnal Sources for WFRP Bretonnia :
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The aim of this page is to point out some interesting non-project sources for WFRP Bretonnia. This list is of course far from exhaustive.

Bretonnian characters in official WFRP supplements :
-------------------------------------------------------------------

- Jean Rousseau, the doctor in DotR (Death on the Reik).
- DotL (Dying of the light) - actors in "The transformation moon".
- Phillipe Descartes, the card player in "Mistaken identity".
- Bretonnian NPCs from Death's Dark Shadow. Especially Boulangier and Giscard the pig.
- The honourable Ludwig de Beq Governor of Rijker's Isle (Marienburg : Sold Down the River)
- Rocheteau in "Grapes of Wrath" from WD and Restless Dead
- Bretonnian NPCs from Lichemaster

Who is your own favorite ?
Most of them share a common trait, don't you think ?

The old series of Warhammer novels (maybe to be reprinted soon ?) featured a few stories set in Bretonnia :
-------------------------------------------------------------------

- "The gardener of Parravon" by B. Craig from the Ignorant Armies Anthology.
- The beginning of "The voyage south" by N. Griffith from the Red Thirst Anthology takes place in Bretonnia.

Internet sources :
-------------------------------------------------------------------

"Kidnapped!" by A. Nuñez
Type : Scenario
Availability : Scarce. This scenario may proove quite difficult to track down. The author requested it should be taken off Internet sites after submitting it to Hogshead. It may appear in Hogshead material in the future.
- A well-written scenario set in Marienburg. Includes some interesting Bretonnian NPCs.

"Southlands document" by G. Lepper
Type : description + NPCs
Availability : No problem. go to http://home.earthlink.net/~glepper/
Some of the featured NPCs are very good, in particular the two Bretonnian ones.

"The streets of Bordeleaux" by L.J.A Carswell
Type : Complete Scenario
Availability : the wfrp adventure collection www.wfrp.de
This is a nice city adventure that takes place in Bordeleaux.

"Anarchy in Bretonnia" by O. Cooper
Type : Complete Scenario
Availability : No problem. go to www.warhammer.net
An action oriented rioting scenario set in Guisoreux.

"To lose in Toulouse" Author unknown
Type : PCs + Scenario outline
Availability : No problem. go to www.warhammer.net
- The focus is on the provided Player Characters rather than on the scenario itself. The latter is not set in the Old World but does have a genuine Warhammer feel to it. With a little work it could be turned into a good Bretonnian scenario. A sequel "is chaos to lose ?" is hinted at, however I've personally never come across it.

Other sources :
-------------------------------------------------------------------

"Rob Roy" (1995) directed by Michael Caton-Jones
Cast includes : Liam Neeson
Type : Film
Availability : No problem.
In the highlands of Scotland in the 1700s... Could provide inspiration for archaïc WFRP Bretonnia. Tim Roth's performance as a noble bastard makes it well worth seeing (though I wouldn't say the film in itself is brilliant).

Paintings :
-------------------------------------------------------------------

LA TOUR (Georges de),
French painter (Vic-sur-Seille 1593 - Lunéville 1652)
